I like to keep pound cake in the freezer for impromptu desserts. During strawberry season, though, it goes pretty fast! We really like vanilla pound cake with macerated strawberries and lots of whipped cream as an easy version of strawberry shortcake.
When I decided to restock this time, we found this recipe in the ATK baking book for kids and decided to film it for the channel. I'm not sure I'll make it exactly like this again, since I really don't love cleaning the food processor if I don't have to, and I think you could make this recipe without it. At the rate we're eating it, I might get to try it out that way soon!
