Labne with Sizzled Scallions and Chile (Almost Ranch)
Nothing Fancy
This is a great fancy dip if you like ranch...and probably even if you don't. It's a little spicy, from red chile flakes warmed in oil with herbs and scallions, but that is tempered by the creamy base. The whole thing is savory and super tasty with anything you might otherwise dip in ranch.
In my opinion, the thicker your base is the better for this recipe. I don't have easy access to labne, but my usual super thick plain whole milk Greek yogurt from Cabot Creamery was perfect for this one. If you can only find thinner yogurt, you can strain some of the whey first.
If you're having a party, you can make everything a day or two before and just swirl the oil on top right before you serve it. Easy peasy.
