My Messy BBQ Baked Beans
Son of a Southern Chef
This is a super quick version of bbq baked beans, since you start with cans of beans instead of dried. I very much appreciate this! It comes together quickly and can keep warm for a long time, perfect for when your attention might be divided, like for a barbecue.
As is, this has a very bacon-forward flavor. I think next time I try this recipe I will modify it a bit. For my family of four, two cans of beans is plenty. We do prefer baked beans a bit sweeter, so I would not change the amounts of sugar/ketchup/etc. Plus, I think we'd prefer a smaller white bean, like navy beans.
This recipe, slightly modified, is available here: https://geostablephl.com/blog/2022/barbecue-baked-beans-with-red-spice/
