Goat Cheese and Strawberry Tartine
Around My French Table
This is a great spring or summer snack or light lunch. I can see this paired with a simply dressed spring green salad and a glass of chilled white (or rosé) wine as an elegant light meal.
This is one of those dishes that really leans on the quality of the ingredients, since you're doing nothing to them besides combining them. Make this when you have the best strawberries of the season, buy (or make!) some good bread, and use a fresh cheese that you like -- if it's not goat cheese, I'm sure it would also be good with a thick ricotta, whipped cream cheese, or even the whipped feta we made from Deep Run Roots (https://cookwithheather.com/Deep-Run-Roots-Mulled-Muscadines-and-Whipped-Feta-Toast/) if you want a bit more flavor.
It's also really easy to put together. Good ingredients, put together simply, that taste delicious together. What's not to love?
