Portal Cookies

The Minecrafter's Cookbook

This is a blast from the past! We recorded this video for Portal Cookies (pretty sugar cookies, more often called stained glass window cookies) over a year ago. Man has he grown in a year! My editor hasn't kept up with editing videos that weren't from the main books, and my son called him out on that this weekend, so you're getting a good holiday-ready cookie video this week.

The base of these is a simple sugar cookie. Roll them out (in whatever shape you want), cut out a hole (again, whatever shape you want), bake them briefly, then fill the hole with bashed up candy bits and finish baking. Ta da! You could do hearts for Valentine's day, make a gift shape or a snowflake for Christmas. Egg shapes for Easter? You could make smaller shapes for a pattern, and use different colors and types of hard candy. The possibilities are endless, and they turn out really beautiful!

I found this recipe online as well, here: http://www.hawaiimomblog.com/2020/03/minecraft-portal-cookies.html
