Chocolate Crinkle Cookies

The Complete Baking Book for Young Chefs

My son has had these cookies bookmarked to make for a while, and we finally got to it...before Christmas! We had a little camera snafu, so please excuse any awkward angles or lack of footage from the front. (I think Santa needs to bring me a new overhead camera setup.)

We don't have a set lineup of cookies we make every year at Christmas. There are so many great ones, and I love trying new things. We do try to get to sugar cookies every year, but the icing process can be a little daunting. These Chocolate Crinkle Cookies are beautiful right out of the oven! They look like they're covered in snow, and they taste like a chewy, fudgy brownie. What could be better?

America's Test Kitchen doesn't have this kids' book recipe online that I can find, but they do have a similar recipe on their website here, with an interesting addition of espresso powder: https://www.americastestkitchen.com/recipes/8125-chocolate-crinkle-cookies
