Drinking French
This cocktail includes Chartreuse, which is another thing that is more difficult to find in my area. I used green, though you can use either green or yellow for this recipe. This was one of my husband's favorites; he likes the peppery flavor.

[00:37]: find this here but I certainly couldn't
[00:40]: South Carolina has different liquor laws
[00:44]: so we decided to go ahead and make this
[00:49]: there are a few other things we could
[00:51]: make with this but we're gonna make the
[00:52]: shah's a Lee's a today and it has the
[00:55]: short runs and cognac in it so we found
[00:60]: some Hennessy that's what we're gonna
[01:02]: use
[01:02]: and lemon juice and simple syrup that's
[01:07]: pretty much it so I'm gonna go ahead and
[01:10]: try not forget anything this time so
[01:16]: again I'm making a double batch because
[01:19]: my husband likes this as well
[01:39]: you can make this with green or yellow I
[01:43]: don't know what the differences are
[01:44]: really so this is supposed to be very
[01:47]: botanical and we get a lot of peppery
[01:50]: notes from it in this strength
[01:52]: particularly so on each one and then I'm
[02:04]: gonna finish this simple syrup and see
[02:07]: if I need any more I do
[02:16]: just half-and-half sugar and water
[02:18]: really easy this is a standard white
[02:21]: sugar simple syrup I really do want to
[02:26]: make the Demerara simple syrup that bee
[02:28]: that's in the book at some point but
[02:30]: okay got this new shaker I've been
[02:36]: criticized on my shaking technique so I
[02:38]: was working on it a little bit we're
[02:41]: gonna shake this until it's cold again
[02:45]: we're supposed to serve this in a
[02:47]: chilled coupe glass I do not have that
[02:51]: so we're gonna go with over ice in a
[02:55]: highball glass very large Ice Cube's at
[02:58]: least it won't dilute it too much

[03:07]: got a new shaker really love it a lot
[03:11]: better than the two-piece glass and
[03:15]: steel shakers it also is insulated
[03:22]: stainless feel so if it's just here you
[03:27]: can make two and keep one for later and
[03:30]: you'll stay cold not sponsored okay so
[03:37]: that's the drink plus a twist of lemon
[03:45]: zest just to garnish garnish and that's
[03:51]: it
[03:59]: so I'm gonna give it a taste
[04:06]: definitely has it more of a spicy note
[04:10]: the other drink we made recently was the
[04:12]: fernet branca had the fernet branca in
[04:15]: it that's very different flavor-wise
[04:19]: this is this is we get a peppery flavor
