This is a great use for the leftover syrup from your canned peaches! Just...share it. (It does say serves 4!)

I'd like to try this again and shake it instead of stir it; I think it would mix better that way. But then, the syrup from my peaches was pretty viscous!

I somehow neglected to get any good pictures of this one, so...

[00:11]: making ain't that a peach out of Vivian
[00:14]: Howard's deep run roots cookbook now
[00:16]: we're a little it's not peach season
[00:19]: here yet but so we didn't make the
[00:22]: canned peaches from her book yet maybe
[00:26]: we'll do that this summer but we did
[00:27]: have some home canned peaches that we
[00:29]: made a couple of years ago I think so
[00:36]: and I know that we put some alcohol in
[00:38]: here and I do not remember we put brandy
[00:41]: and thumb and maybe bourbon in some and
[00:43]: I forget I have no idea what's in this
[00:45]: one just no idea but we're gonna go
[00:47]: ahead and make it despite the fact that
[00:49]: we don't have exactly the ingredient
[00:51]: that she used from her thing but this is
[00:54]: basically just some syrup from canned
[00:59]: peaches
[00:60]: ours are home canned I'm sure you could
[01:02]: use you know store-bought but you'll
[01:05]: want ones in actual syrup not with not
[01:08]: the like now they have the more healthy
[01:10]: less sugar ones you probably don't want
[01:12]: that so we are going to put the syrup in
[01:17]: this jar because we're gonna mix up in
[01:18]: here because this makes it looks like a
[01:21]: tea glass if you're from the south you
[01:24]: know what I mean basically a a water
[01:26]: glass full of alcohol bourbon we are
[01:31]: using this it's relatively inexpensive
[01:33]: but still pretty tasty bourbon that we
[01:37]: like for to use for mixing and because
[01:40]: there are eight ounces of bourbon in
[01:42]: this I didn't want to use anything too
[01:46]: expensive right now anyway so I'm going
[01:50]: to measure that yeah it's a lot of
[01:52]: bourbon
[01:59]: there we go
[02:02]: we're gonna put that in here
[02:06]: and then the only thing that we have to
[02:11]: put in here now if some lemon juice
[02:13]: fresh-squeezed lemon juice knock it over
[02:36]: I'm gonna use this spoon that I used to
[02:38]: kind of keep the peaches in the jar just
[02:41]: stir it up I could shake it I could put
[02:43]: the lid on and shake it but I'm not
[02:44]: gonna do that because I would probably
[02:47]: mess it up I would probably make a mess
[02:49]: that's what I serve it up kinda looks
[03:00]: very syrupy on the spoon interesting and
[03:05]: then serve that in a large glass over
[03:11]: ice see that that's a lot of drink
[03:18]: couldn't even put all of it in my glass
[03:21]: so you can garnish this with peach slice
[03:24]: if you want my peach slices look a
[03:26]: little man one of the batches this must
[03:28]: have been the batch that I cooked a
[03:30]: little bit too long so they broke down
[03:31]: at this so they're not quite as pretty
[03:33]: as you know they could be but there we
[03:36]: go that's a lot of bourbon taste
[03:44]: strongly of bourbon but I like bourbon
[03:46]: so that's pretty good we'll have to try
[03:49]: it another time after we have canned the
[03:51]: peaches but you can see pretty easy if
[03:54]: you have the ingredients to throw
[03:56]: together I would recommend it if you're
[03:59]: a fan of bourbon on this episode of
[04:02]: cooking
[04:03]: books with Heather you watched me make
[04:04]: ain't that a peach a cocktail out of the
[04:08]: deep brown roots cookbook and I have to
[04:13]: say we we liked it I think it might be
[04:16]: better if the if the peaches didn't have
[04:23]: alcohol in them already like I said I'm
[04:26]: not sure which alcohol our peaches that
[04:31]: we use had in him and so we didn't use
[04:33]: exactly the same recipe that she did and
[04:36]: my husband would like for us to do that
[04:38]: so you know cans and peaches using her
[04:39]: recipe and try it again that way but I
[04:44]: do have to say it is much more of a
[04:49]: highball glass size drink that you
[04:52]: should have it in rather than a tall
[04:55]: drink you kind of need to watch how much
[04:60]: you drink of that that I think that's
[05:01]: about four drinks worth rather than the
[05:06]: sort of one large drink that it seemed
[05:09]: like was pictured and I don't think
[05:13]: there was any indication of you know
[05:14]: serves four or whatever I could be wrong
[05:18]: but anyway so if you like bourbon you
[05:23]: should try if you like bourbon you like
[05:26]: peaches you'll probably like it but do
[05:29]: be careful if you enjoyed watching me
[05:32]: make this today please give me a thumbs
[05:35]: up and come back and watch me make
