This Will Make It Taste Good

About once a year, I really want some butternut squash soup. This recipe is pretty basic, but the author says that's the best way to let the squash flavor shine. She's not wrong about that.

The apple relish, if you can call it that, adds lot of interest in ways that incorporating the same ingredients to the soup itself would not. Next time I might cut the apples a bit smaller, though. The large slices are hard to scoop up with a spoon, and a little more than one of my bites.
